We've been working on these things during our reading time:
- reading the pictures, remembering what happened, and reading the words
- reading the exact words more and more
- sounding like the characters
- finding the words we know in the books and reading them
- retelling what happened from the beginning to the end
- noticing which parts of the story are told through the pictures and which parts are read through the words
We can't wait to share what we've worked on with our partners. This week we had a special partner time. We read with friends in the other kindergarten classes. What fun!
In math we worked a lot with sorting. Some of us recognized that we can sort the same things in different ways, like by color, by shape, or by size, to name a few examples. We've also reviewed our 2-d shapes, especially circles and triangles. Finally we learned about ten frames.
Tiger Teams were a big hit, too. Ask your child about his or her favorite parts of the week!
