Scenes Around the Classroom--August

Ok, I know it is September (and the middle of September at that!), but I wanted to show what the classroom has been looking like since school started.

Here is our clip chart.  During the first few days of school, we discussed many situations, expectations, and rules for kindergarten.  We sorted these into "clip ups" and "clip downs" so we know what behaviors to try and do and which behaviors to avoid.

Our family pictures are up.  Students have enjoyed seeing their classmates and their family members. Thanks for bringing those in!

We made self portraits and added party hats to help us categorize our birthdays.

We made palm trees and added the letters to our name to the tree after being inspired by Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.  We learned about shapes in August, too.  We made art inspired by Josef Albers and Piet Mondrian. Both artists worked with squares and rectangles.  The room is very colorful with all of this art!
