Reading Word Work of the Week

This week we've highlighted these letters and their sounds:

M, A, T, B, L, F, and H.

We've continued to work on rhyming, matching beginning sounds, and counting words in a sentence.

We've practiced writing these capital letters, too:

F, E, D, P, B, and R.

Sight words we've practiced:

a, is

In reading, we're working on sequencing a story. We are very good at retelling the beginning, middle, and end of favorite stories like Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! or Wemberly Worried. We read the nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and sequenced what happened, too. Check it out:

When you read with your child, try asking your child to sequence or retell the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
